My car has a GREMLIN??
Monday, April 09, 2007 3:26 PM
I was driving my car about 40mph, when it completely shut off. I coasted into a parking lot. I had nothing, no radio, no light, just nothing. So I checked the fuses under the hood, I pulled the IGN 50 fuses out and drooped it behind the battery (it is lost), so I checked all others and they were fine. So I went to use my cellphone (it has navigation on it) to find a parts store, no service?? So I walked out to the street and it regained service and so now I can find an AUTO ZONE half a block down. I bought a 40amp fuse (all out of 50), and walked back and plugged it in. The car now started. So did I blow a fuse and just happen to be the one I dropped. Has anyone else experienced this?, or was I in a GREMLIN area since my phone would not work either??

So on the serious side

Has anyone had their Cavalier, just die like mine did today? Could it have been the IGN FUSE??

mine has died like that..but it was bad battery connection.......i hope you looked under the car,and turned on all your lights, before you opened your hood

i had a problem like that before but not in a cavalier it was caused by bad battery connection. But it could have been the fuse too. Make sure your connection is good and check or clean rust from your + (where it connects to the battery holder and engine).
