I'm curious as to the wheel horsepower rating to the following motors.
- The 2.4L Twin Cam (LD9)
- The Quad 4 - regular output & H.O.
- The 2.2L Ecotec
- The 2.4L Ecotec.
Also is there a difference between if hooked to an Auto tranny or a manual?
Auto has greater drivetrain loss than manual, so the WHP is lower in autos.
So the manuals are slightly more efficent.
But what about the stock whp ratings?

Yes, slightly. This is due to the clutch being directly connected to the flywheel, and therefore the crankshaft when engaged, while in the auto, fluid is forced through turbines inside the torque converter, and is not a direct connection to the flywheel. The auto steels a few more HP than the manual.
Stock 2.4 LD9 = approx. 130-135whp depending on conditions (Manual trans)

And what about the Quad 4's, & Ecotecs?
Ho's are between 150-155whp.
Gilles
2.3 Ho
basically google the engine you want, subtract 10-15% and you have your WHP,
HP Tuners | Garrett T3/T04B | 2.5" Charge Pipes | 2.5" Downpipe | 650 Injectors | HO Manifold | Addco front/rear | Motor Mounts | HKS SSQV | Spec stage 3 | AEM UEGO Wideband | Team Green LSD | FMIC | 2.3 cams | 2.3 oil pump swap | 280WHP | Now ECOTECED
they arent always accurate, look at the new cobalt ss s/c's. they are rated at 205hp, but are dynoing 230whp. thats 250 crank hp.
I want to share something with you - the three sentences that will get you through life. Number one, 'cover for me', Number two, 'oh, good idea, boss', Number three, 'it was like that when I got here.'
Well - I'd heard the 2.0L Ecotec S/C was underrated. Just didn't realize that it was by so much. I actually thought is was closer to 190-200whp.
Btw - your sure the 230whp, wasn't from the 2.0L Ecotec Turbo, from the Solstice GXP/Sky Redline.
So we're completely cleared this up - the approximate numbers we're talking about is the following
The LD9(2.4L TC) is approximately 127-133 whp - depending on tranny
The regular Quad 4 - is approximately 125-138 whp - depending on year & tranny.
The regular H.O. Quad 4 is about 150 -155 whp - depending on the year.
The W41 Quad 4 H.O. is about 160-165 whp - depending on the year.
The 2.2L Ecotec is approximately 120-128 whp - depending on the year, model & type of tranny.
The 2.4L Ecotec is approximately 140-155 whp - depending on the model & type of the tranny.
Sound about right?

^^That would probably be a decent rought estimate.
The new 2.0 Turbo engines are rated at 260. I haven't heard of any dyno numbers yet so I don't know. See if you can fin a Solstice or Sky forum where they have dyno'd the turbo version.
