i was browsing ebay and i came across a couple loop back mufflers and was wondering what benefits they have over other mufflers and kind seems to find an answer on the net. anyone have an idea. just wondering thanks

Just buy a normal muffler, with a decent tip and call it a day.
They are quieter then a normal straight through muffler. They are an unchambered muffler but the gasses will pass through the muffler twice increacing the noise reduction. Air doesn't like to turn corners so honestly you'd be better off just using a straight through muffler under the car and another at the rear. Although straight through mufflers are only important in high hp or boosted applications.
