Ok so I am looking ito getting a patriot head. I am wondering if its completely unbolt and bolt on the new head or is there more needed. It's going onto a 2002 2200 auto. Here is a link to the specs on the patriot head. http://www.patriot-performance.com/waterNew/default.asp?T=505242&DID=1225

It states that you can get them assembled and un assembled. If you get the assembled one all i think you need to swap over is the rockers, and maybe some new pushrods since its all apart.....hypsy should know or shoot patriot an email.

Yea it is a direct bolt up if you get the assembeled head, you just need to install rockers and pushrods, which if youre upgrading for better flow, i recommend 1.6 rockers and chrome moly pushrods... otherwise is a simple 2 hour or so install, very straightforward.

the 1.6 rockers i got from someone selling on the org... but sumitt racing has them and crane cams (those are the ones i got) has them... howell automotive sells the crane cams rockers.

The only thing you need to modify is the top of your valve cover needs to be ground up a bit to accomidate for bigger rockers... other than that its a simpla as old ones out new ones in, its not as simple as that, but howell has an explanation that helped me a bit (altho i did it a bit different than they describe)

There shouldn't be anything else in need of replacing, if all the work you are doing is rockers.

When it comes time to get a patriot head for the car, can you get a deal on the patriot head hypsy?

Well i dont know why people never ask me since i do have the 2200 Patriot Performance head and i post on here regularly not like the other people i looked up that have the head and dont post on here anymore. But its a direct bolt on, you need another like $200 in parts such as new head bolts, a new gasket set, and new pushrods. But that was through Carquest and if hypsy can hook you up go for it. Also, i wouldnt suggest getting the roller rockers through Howell, it was a giant pain in the ass for me. First i got the wrong lift ratio, had to send em back, took forever to get the right ones, blah. But its a solid addition to the power band, made great midrange power.
