I bought a set of RK sport spark plug springs. the ones i ordered were for my car. 03 cavalier. but the instructions that came with them said something about a 2.4 or 2.3. They were about half the size of the ones that came in my car.
So I assumed they werent for the ecotec. I called RK sport, and they told me the springs were the same for the ecotec and non ecotec. And that my stock springs had been "stretched" and that was why they looked longer.
I went ahead and put them in, but they are way to small to work at all.
Does anybody know if they are infact the same springs? I went to the parts store and had them show me new ecotec spark plugs boots and springs. and non ecotec 2.4 spark plug boots and springs. and they were different lengths.
I'm assuming they want to blame it on me becuase they dont want to send me anotehr set of springs.
far as i know those are only for the 2.4 not the ecotec
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!

They make them for both....and for both they do NOTHING!
I used to race cars, now I race myself.

well I tried to install them, and they were too short, so they didnt work. and since they do nothing. I guess I wasted my money. But It seemed as if the guy I talked to "Frank" knew nothing about the springs. he was just going to send me another set.
and then couldnt cuase his boss said it wouldnt work. because they were both the same. so anyway. I guess they would look pretty cool on a remote control car as coilover springs.
Ryne, that's not entirely true... they suck $50 out of your wallet really well
The stock springs are around 1 ohm resistance... the RK copper/beryllium ones are around 0.5 ohms each... so... the springs are equivalent to better spark plug wires.
Do most stock cars need them? No. And unless you need a hotter spark (say... nitrous applications if you're blowing out the stock spark)... you won't see a difference, other than the lighter wallet.
PS. They're only $9 on Ebay
hey guys sorry to bring back from the dead but i am the guy that has on ebay and yes the 2.2 eco and 2.0 cobalt ss are way longer than the 2.3 2.4 quad 4 and twin cams i sell them now for a way low price of 6.50 shipped on the eco and cobalt ss and the 2.3 2.4 are going for 5.50 a set.....resistance is far lower on the beryllium copper silver coated springs i will have to snap a pic of them on the digital resistance meter at work to prove how much diff....and also i am making the 2.3 2.4 top coil houising springs this week....and i do this still for j-body guys even though i have moved on to a bigger z thanks alot guys thought i let u know......the jersey devil....
