ok i just got done swaping a 96 harness and pcm into my 97 z24 so i could use the 97 stuff on my 96 z. but on the 97 one plug is left hanging, the oil sensor plug. now i have 3 2.4 motors and both my 96 and 00 have the oil sensor on the oil pan but the 97 has nothing there it seems as if there is just a plug there or something, my question.. is the sensor elsewhere on the 97? does it have the sensor? im gonna be selling it soon and cant have a check oil light on the dash. if need be ill be swaping the oil pan off my 96 onto the car but thats last resort

ok never mind about the check oil light it decided to shut off and hopefully it doesnt come back, but where did the sensor go on the 97 2.4 i layed under the car for like a half an hour last night and was lookin for the stupid thing and its right there on my 96 and 00 oil pans did they just not have them or?
96 was the only year for it , 97-02 do not have the oil level sensor
and i dont get it , you put a 96 harness into your 97 ??
why the 96 system is crap , you can not use hp tuners with it , the 97-up you can use hp tuners
thats the reason i put the 97 stuff in my 96 (hp tuners) but since i did that i had to put the 96 stuff in my 97 cuz that car will be sold and yeah my 2000 motor has it but thats cuz a 96 oil pan is on it from what i remember since i bought it, but is there any way around the check oil light cuz it comes and goes and i cant really sell that factor to someone, is my only way around it swaping the oil pans
use a jumper wire to tie both wires together
ok so you have a 96 that your keeping so you put the 96 stuff in , from a 97 that your not keeping

yep 97 stuff in my 96 z so i can tune, just got done with my 5 speed swap on the 96 and soon to have the rest of my turbo stuff done but thanks ill try the jumper wire tomorrow before work, cross my fingers it works and i dont break anything

Why not that the oil pan off the 2000 motor and put it on the motor in the 97 car so you have the sensor to hook up.
FU Tuning
the check oil light is on in my 97 because of the 96 harness and ecu i swapped in it. the sensor is plugged into nothing therefor check oil light
my 96 z is the one that is gettin the 97 harness and ecu put in it so im not worried about that yet
and john thats what i planned but if there was someway around it id rather not swap oil pans around cuz i have plenty other work ahead of me but ill do what i got to do
