Engine swap time!

OK as you all know i am about to do a swap. I currently have a 2002 cavalier with the 2200 and the automatic tranny. I will be installing a built 2.4 out of a 98 with the manual GETREG tranny. would i be able to get a wireing harness that would work in the 2002 with that setup? If not what would be the best way to have it wired? Been bugging me all week!lol Thanks

The best way to wire it, is to get a 2002 2.4L harness with the getrag manual transmission. You'll also want the dash wiring harness, so the clutch pedal switch and cruise control switch just plug right in.

There are other ways to do it... such as modify your existing harness... depends if you can find the right harnesses for cheap and are willing to pull the dash to install it...

Just be certain that it's a Getrag (2000+ cars) and not an Isuzu... because the clutch master and slave are different between the two.

Ok thats perfect! So if i were to get all the wireing out of a 2000+ as well as the tranny i will bolt directly to the 98 block right?

As long as the transmission is for a 2.4L, it will bolt to any year 2.4L. If it's from a 2200, or 2.2L Ecotec... it won't bolt up right.
