ok heres the scope i ran my car this spring and my best time was a 15.4. car is an 03 cavalier ecotec as you all know. mods were cone filter on stock tube, and fart can with other wise stock exhuast. i didnt have any rear seats, spare, jack, or rear deck, and the hood was off.
this winter i plan on doing some more modding. ive added rk 4-2-1 header, 2.25 inch piping, magnaflow cat, and magnaflow cat back.
i know i need a real intake, better mounts and pulleys...
i want to go na for now
what else do you guys think i need any words of advice. and my car in an atx

You need HP tuners to remove torque management, Im not sure if there are any 14sec NA ecos though. You would need some serious weight reduction, I dont think its worth it, just get a bottle and your easily there.

All you really need is a full 2.25" exhaust with headers, cai to get into the 14s.

14's in an automatic arent very easy at all N/A my best run to date is a 15.8 with all the mods in my registry and then i stripped the interior and deleted the balance shafts. i removed 300 lbs of interior (basically nothing left inside the car but the headliner, dash and 2 front seats) i pulled only a 2.3 60' on any of my runs and id guess if i got drag radials and decent struts and hit a 2.1 60' id be at a low 15 maybe without HPT.
now not saying my car is the best example and noone will be better then me with the same mods, just putting mine up as an example.
and im at about $1800 in mods ust in parts cause i was able to install everything myself.
definitely good luck it would be nice to see a 14 sec auto ecotec im hoping ill get there myself before i go boosted

also forgot to add i remove the serpentine belt for my few runs at the track, it eliminates driving the a/c and the alternater. this gets me .3 in the 1/4 pretty consistantly. id say make sure you can get it back on before you leave the track though just in case.
basically this eliminates use the use of getting pullies cause you pretty much cant let the engine rev any free er then just spinning the crank pully alone

a nice bolt on hp, its a product from dei i believe it is. Its called cry02. The a co2 system. When co2 decompresses it gets very very cold. With this kit, theres a small bulb that sits inside your intake hose, and at the touch of a button, co2 decompresses and the bulb get really cold. Lowers your intake temps up to like 40 percent i believe. easy 20 or so hp without blowin yer engine with nos. just my $0.02

but the problem is when you get 14s you wont be happy, then youll go for 13s, then 12s...

My bet would say no. And when the guy informing people about it talks about blowing motors with nos, I would also bet hes not that knowledgable on the subject.
I sure wish someone with a J would try that CRY02 system so we knew if it does anything.
It sounds like you really want to hit that 14 mark! Maybe you'll be the first to do it!

don't go getting this guys hopes up. There is no way the cry02 system is going to net you 20HP, let alone on an NA engine. I'd ask for your $0.02 back...

id still like to know how hes running his times. im not at all doubting them im just jealous cause ive put aout 1800 into my car in parts alone just to hit mid 15's with my auto and i only weigh 2580 with an 1/8th tank of gas and without me in it

You can run mid to low 14's non aspirated you just need the cash for the merchandise. I am in montana at an altitude of 2300 above sea level and i run 14.8 to 14.4 without a bottle or turbo or supercharger. If i were back on the eastcoast i would be in the high 13's. Yopou just have to build it right. And i am still running stock cams. I have had some serious head work done and switched to a solid lifter and alot of bolt on's. The one thing that helped the most was the ecu tunning.
