Spark Plug Gap; 2200

So today I installed my new accel coil packs, 8mm wires and plugs.
The plugs came gapped at 0.060" from Howell Automotive.

My Haynes manual states the gap should be as is noted:

1998 and earlier...0.060"
1999 and 2000.....0.050"
2001 (and 2002 not noted)....0.040"

So following the manual I gapped the plugs at 0.040"
I'm wondering if they have too little of a gap now and should go back to 0.060"?
Seeing as though the manual was incorrect about the firing order...

On a side note..wondering if anybody else has run into this.
The factory plug gap was inconsistant, meaning, two plugs were gapped at 0.050",
one at 0.040" and one at 0.047"

Any help would be great.

when i bought Denso iridium plugs they came gapped at .045. I left it there since all of them were gapped the same. Ive run them like that for almost 3 years and havent had a problem.
