motor mount help

i have both upper and lower motor mounts on my 97 2.4 I have a pacesetter header also. I was wondering if it is possible to take off the mounts and not have to worry about getting a flex pipe welded onto the header. I talked to a guy at an exhaust shop and he told me that I didn't need a flex pipe. any help would be wonderful.

You'll snap your downpipe if you don't keep at least your solid lower mount.

It's happened to many people here, don't be another one.

It will only reduce the vibs alittle. The mount that creates the most vibs from my experience was my lower mount.

Do you have a solid upper though, or just an insert? Mine is a insert, and didn't really change the vibs when I removed/installed it. I took it out to see if the vibs would be less, but it barely changed, so I put it back in.

You do need either the motor mounts, or the flex pipe on the header. If the vibs are bothering you, just get the flex pipe. It's cheap to buy one, and have it welded in.

Without either the pacesetter headers are known to crack.
