Nah... suspension forum... Tuning is for ECU tuning.

GM is as good or better than any of the strut bars sold. Direct fit, out of the way of most anything that can get in the way, can bolt to the firewall... cheaper... just not as pretty as the rest of em out there.

Well your post should actually be in suspension & brake, but the RK Sport bar is the same as the GM bar.

go there for better prices than RK Sport

if you have cruise control mounted on the passenger-side strut mount, use part# 22642387

if you have cruise control mounted on the firewall or no cruise, use part# 22604347

well esentially all strut bars are the same so long as they are durable enough. I got a revotec bar from ebay for $27.50 shipped!

Installation is a real breeze, and I am quite sure it's not my imagination telling me that pulling the corners these days is a good bit more agressive then it was before. I can't speak for the rksport bar, but the revotec was probably the second most effective bolt-on I've done on my cav

I'm going to have to disagree with you a tiny bit Moe Moe; the GM bar is steel, one-piece, and has three mounting points. For those three reasons, it will be more rigid than the other aluminum bars (even though the GM bar is thinner). However, the difference is not enough to notice unless you are doing hardcore AutoX or something like that.

Yeah it is....

Its a little uneven in that pic cause of the quite-heavy subbox that's in there.... it should be about 1/4" higher in the rear.

4 mounting points if you count the 2 firewall bolts as seperate...

Hrmm...I just bought a used set, I have some 17" wheels with 215/45/17 tires and I'm now wondering if it's going to do anything for my wheel gap after looking at yours with 16" wheels. However, I have AGX's so I don't really have another option because I don't want to ditch my warranty. Oh well, too late now haha.

I wouldn't because they are about 3" apart from each other....not a big difference. If they were evenly spaced between the strut towers, then yes.

Even the 1.4" drop is noticeable. I say do it

To answer the question Domingo Fung...

The RKSport Tower strut bar is very good. Gives more driving stability and reduces body flexing. Plenty of JBOeons have it. Maybe more have the GM one....

Depending on what style your looking for, theres no difference between the two. One GM, The other RKSport. Its your pick in the end.

Hope it helps

As far as I know, its the same bar....... Mantapart also sells it....... all a GM factory piece.

As for how well it works...... I've had a few, and went back to the GM bar.

Event would be the one to ask though

If you open your hood, the metal wall behind the engine separating the engine compartment from the interior is the firewall.

You are going to get your best prices from there. I think they go for like $50 + shipping from there. Look to see if you have a black box mounted on a bracket to two of your passenger side strut tower bolts. If you do, use part # 22642387. If you don't, use part # 22604347.
