A new little something something...
Saturday, September 09, 2006 9:06 PM

Car seems to pull harder, my buddy who has a 3.1/3400 hybrid says its faster than his car that runs 14.2s. Worth the cash, probably. Worth the hassle of dealing with Hahn, probably not... Customer service nightmare. Install was straight forward, only 3 trips to the parts store.

are you using stock throttle cable? any modification required to run that?

Lets see, what'd we have todo....

10 or so shorter m8 (like 25mm long) bolts...
2 1/8npt fittings, with a hose barbs
1 3/8npt fitting with a 3/8 ID hose barb
2 3/8 ID gender benders, male->male
1/2, 3/16, 1/8 vacuum line
stock throttle cable and bracket which had already been cut up for the old WAI.

then the fun part was getting an airfilter on that sucker
a 90* rubber coupler cut to a 45* and shortened
a 2" piece of aluminum tube from an old WAI for the ghetto fabulous warm air intake

Paul, no problems yet... we'll have to go for a drive

I accept donations for the turbo fund, hoping to be boosted by the start of race season here next year... but my pockets are only so deep, and my savings account is low... parts are too damn expensive

GOTTA love a N/A 4cyl, much respect bro. You going to feed that thing artificially with your 11:1 compression, or you going to lower it?

Endevors beyond the norm sholud get the respect its deserved. However, if it doesnt do any better than the next intake mani.... Well anyways, nice job. Looks great. Much respect. Let us know the gains you get out of it.

You little show off!!

Good luck with the turbo fund.

We definitly felt some gains, now if only I'd get a chance to take a rip in it with 200lbs worth of passenger! The car needed more air up top, and the scroll design manifold wasnt the greatest there. Its still drivable on the street, but that'll be changing soon as soon as I find some daylight to adjust the cams 13s or boost is the saying of the month.

Yes, I'll be boosted with 11.29:1, attempting to have some lowend and putting around power. Will compensate with octane at the track, and only 5psi on the street with some alky injection. Its going to be a huge pain in the ass to tune and make happy.

This is very interesting. I love the fact that somebody is going boosted on such high compression, beautiful. You deffinatly wont need much boost to make large amounts of power. How much horsepower do you think you are running, or have you had it on a dyno?

Its getting dynoed on Friday, i'm hoping 170-180hp... my math says I was making 160 or so on my 14.4 pass.

170-180 should be enough for 13.9s, I've spent enough time on in hptuners to make their logo burn into my eyes.

i love everything uve been doing to ur car in the all motor business, it is my addiction as well afterall, but to see a JBody doing it is great, keep up the good work, i think ull make it into the 13s.

that thing is nice what did that cost

Re: A new little something something...

N/A is hard... its been fun... but I cant wait for a turbo tho. The manifold was $799... by the time it was all said and done, well over $1000.

Finally got a better intake on it... cut and hacked the old WAI. It's shiney. Owen likes shiney.
