you don't really need a "performance" set. Hell I don't even think they make one. But if you say your lifters are cracking then that's a pretty bad thing. Just replace them with stock replacements. I haven't heard of anyone having any problems with them really.

Jbodyperformance.com has some real good lifters

Jared....do you have proof of this? Do you have them on your car? Did your previous lifters fail due to high rpms, and the JBP fixed the problem? Where is your proof? I have NOTHING against JBP, or their lifters, but I find it ubsurd to recommend a 400 dollar set of lifters, saying "they make some real good lifters", when in reality, you have no idea if they dont infact "make some real good lifters" People need to stop spreading misinformed/lack of proof information.

Um, a new set from Autozone is about $380.... so $400 on supposed performance ones isnt bad.

Lifters are over rated. JBP is screwing people with high rev lifters.

If you think they are good, you never really worked on an engine or took the time too understand how it works. There's no such thing as "high rev lifters". The lifters are just like a shim between the valves and the cam. They don't have springs or anything in them. It's the oil pressure that set them. If you want to rev higher, you get stiffer valves springs. The lifters are good for alot or revs. If you are so much worried about them, get a set of solid lifters.

Like said above, get a set of stock replacement.

I think stockers are only 8 bucks each IIRC. it's been a while... if they were in fact lighter, then they may allow for slightly quicker return, but I have seen no numbers... if anything like stated above, solid lifters would likely way less because they have no fluid weight in them...

If they're $8/ apiece, tell me where, cause everywhere i've looked was way way more than what JBP charges...

I'm an idiot, I just called and they are 25 CND each.. ouch. so 400 for all 16...

who makes a solid lifter for the 2.4

Re: lifters 2.4l

No one that I know of. They're all hydraulic.

You can go with 2.4L replacements... either GM or aftermarket.... or you can go 2.3L which are a 2mm wider piece... you'll have to bore the cam carriers to accommodate them, at least... perhaps other clearance issues.... but it's an option.

You can get solid lifters for the 2.3 so they can be used in the 2.4 with a bored cam housing.

The only source that you could get them was Mantapart witch is a big NONO. Also, hydrolic lifters can be made solid.

If you are so worried about your valves train, use 2.3 parts. The 2.3 springs are good up to 8000rpm witch you'll never see with your 2.4.

what is the difference between the 2.3 and the 2.4 lifters. I just wanna find something that will last and improve the performance of my motor. and already ordered jbp valves, springs, and keepers

Lifter won't improve the performance of your engine all by themself.

2.3 lifters are 35mm and the 2.4 are 33mm.

i understand that but i would rather put a stronger lifter in. Whats so special about the 2.3 lifters my stock ones cracked along the top and i dont feel like having a lifter shatter on me in another 73,000km. by the way im building the end of my motor so it wont be just lifters

I got JBP's lifters for my 2.4 LD9. I specified that now that the 2.4 Ecotec is out. I paid $532 for them they went up I think about 30 bucks but they are solid. Fine piece of worksmanship or machine which is how they were done. But yeah mine are good.

so your telling us that you had major lifter float with your LD9 so these "upgraded" jbp lifters solved all your problems... or you just got them and because they seem to work they're "solid and a fine peice of workmanship"?

jbp said that they take the center out of the lifter out and machine it or something so they is less bleed off at higher rpms
