rocker arms
Thursday, August 10, 2006 12:53 PM
ok i recently changed the head gasket on my 2200, well when ever i was trying it out and driving it one of my rockers decided that it would start to slip off the valve srping causing a knocking. i immediately turned it off and pushed it all the way back home. when i got home and took it apart it had cracked but was still usable so i just tightened it on there till i got new rockers. the way we had tighten them on before was with a 19th thousands clearance on the compression stroke, but i was reading my haynes repair manual and it just said to tighten down all the rockers at 22 lbs ft of torque. so i am about to slap on the new rockers on there and was wondering how exactly i shoud tighten down the rocker arm bolts?
any input would help!
