ok this may sound stupid but where i live aftermarket exhaust anyway shape or form is illiegal and i have a custom dual exaust pipe ran and im trying to figure out what i can do to make it legal i am thinking about using stock mufflers off maybe a grand am or grand prix so it looks stock and isnt loud and i want to keep the custom piping becuase it was expensive and brand new i just dont want to restrick the flow to much and hurt somthing but its a show car and i want it to still look desent..... if anyone can help or has any ideas i cant think please please let me no b4 i get more tickets!!

look into dynomax super turbo SS mufflers. they are supposed to be around stock sound(quiet but sportier upon heavy acceleration), and if you leave them without tips, and not overly visable, they will look no more than like a stock exhaust system, while keeping up the performance flow of a more open exhaust. but IMO, dual exhaust if more show than go, so if youre gonna keep it as dual, have some mildly visable tips. its a stupid law, i would look for a loophole somewhere.
I have the Magnaflow dual set with a 20" resonator, really deep sounding, and not too loud. How is Springfield, IL a place thats illegal? I've never gotten pulled over for my exhaust, and I've had it since March, and even been followed by police!
there is a town called jerome n side of springfield its where most ppl hang out and a great cut threw town and if they even see a crome tip they will pull you over and i have dual straight pipes with tips and hight flow cat its realy loud!! its stupid and i got pulled over twice and was given two tickets each time for exhaust and no front plate buy the same cop 5 days aparts its pretty sad.....
