please i need some help, i want to do the cam swap into my 2.4 from a 2.3. what do i need? i got a basic ratchet set and a torque wrench, gaskets, 2 jacks and stands.
1)what size is the bolt on the crank cause im going to go buy the socket.
2) do i need a puller to take the pulley off? it's a unorthadox underdrive pulley.
3) did you guys use rv sealant on the power sterring pump? its says to use locktite brand cause of the oil on the housing and your not suppost to use any solvents to clean off the housings?
4)should i get the o rings for the injectors or hope they dont leak when i put them back in?
thanks i need this performance gain badly to keep up with the hondas.
i want to meet up with a 97 prelude or newer on saturday night and shut him up a bit. after he laughed at me for driving a cavi. he said i have 165 torque and 220 horse so i think it will be close.
thanks, Nick

If you haven't done this before.. give yourself a LONG time... you have to remove the entire timing chain assembly and housing to get the cam covers off... that involves supporting the motor and removing the upper engine mount...
I use a 1 1/16" socket on the crank, but that's not the right size.... it works though, but it's too large. It was all I could find at the time.
My UR pulley just slid off... once I jammed the tire iron in the pulley to stop the crank from turning. This was pre-air compressor that I own now... which with an impact gun makes it much easier.
I use RTV sealant on the PS pump, yes. Works fine for me. You don't use much, just a thin layer.
You don't have to remove the fuel rail to get the cam towers apart.... if you were changing the head you would for sure. No need for O-rings.
thanks man, as for the top message a friendly race maybe in a parking lot, and hopefully only risking my life which i dont mind im invinceble lol or light to light if hes not afraid.
thats almost 27 mm in metric, actually instead of taking off the cam housings can you just take the cover off and replace them? put the cover back and finish up? it probly leaks so i'll do it right if it takes all weekend. fingers crossed.
cant get cam lube her either the GM guy said when them put cams in they just put fresh oil on them is this okay?
oh yeah you guys sure it worth the .030 lift extra and the 2 degrees more duration?
For the PS pump, i replaced the flattened leaky gasket with one from my Felpro gasket set for the Intake Cam carrier. Personally, i went with .375@200 cams for both the intake and exhaust, (custom ground GM Cores i got off Ebay), excellent mid range and high end power from about 3k up. Its nice to see 3rd and 4th to be the power gears now instead of just 1st and 2nd.
to late i already have the "secret cams" hopefully like you guys tell me it will help abit.
but what size is that nut on the crank?
