Ok i have a 97 2.4l Cavy with a blown engine .. got a 2001 2.4l engine from an achieva what has to be done to make it fit.. Specific Steps ? i know the 2001 doest have the EGR and what else . ? i have the stock 2.4l and i could take stuff from there. so can any one help me out please ? thanks
one and only thing..... drill out the knock sensor whole to accept the larger 95-98 knock sensor.

You use your original intake manifold, exhaust manifold, EGR, Injectors.....

I dont know about every 99, but for some reason, the motor I had to pull out and repair(was a 99), didnt have a low oil level sensor or a plug for the low oil level sensor, so I dont know when in the world is up with that?

96 was the year of that sensor not 99.

That is probably why, all of my Z's that I have swapped hjave been 96's, this is my first 99.
2.4l Guru's: what do i need to do in order to swap a 2000 2.2l (non eco) 4spd auto with a 2001 2.4l 5spd manual??? i cant stand my slow ass engine! lol

Huirmmm but doesnt the new 99 - 01 engine dont have the egr ? and were is the knock sensor located ?
There was never an 01 Achivea. There was only the Alero which replaced the Achivea in 99 (so the last year the achivea was built was 98)

yeah well the 01 engine with out the EGR.. what do you do with the sensor ? and the EGR itself ? doesnt the 97 ECU throw a code for not being pluged in ?
you use the EGR from the 97 motor, theres a port that has a block off plate 99+, just take off the 3 bolts and add the egr valve.
