i was wondering where to get some stiffer valve springs for a 97 z24 2.4l
or are the 2.3l ho springs stiffer than the stock 2.4l valve springs?
just looking for some options

Thanks
Paul

Do it the right way, get a valve job done and have the head checked for straightness. While you're getting the valve job done go ahead and get the +1mm valves, it won't cost anymore and they'll flow more than the stock size. The valve seats don't flow as well when worn, so just replacing the valve with the stock size wouldn't do much good without the valve job.

I think Mantapart is about the only place these days to get the stiffer springs.

As for the 2.3 springs. I know the shape of them isn't like the behive shape as the 2.4L.
Wether they're stiffer or not, I"m not sure.

But yeah, high compression, go all out esp since they are the same price as stock sized.

I have the Mantapart stiffere valve springs.. Took a month to get lol, but I got em.. I'd go with the 1mm oversized valves, I got a heck of a deal on the SS stock size(thanks mastin) Thats why I went with those. hehe

The Ho springs are stiffer than the 2.4 springs. You can get springs from Crane cams or comp cams. Don't buy from Mantapart.

Well,
If you're asking those sorts of questions, then you should probably shouldn't be touching your cylinderhead other than the intake and exhaust ports.
Pretty much anyone that can hold a rotary tool can 'port' the intake and exhaust ports.
But after that, you REALLY need to know whats going on if you're gonna touch the valve area.

With that, all I'll say is if you don't have the experience with such work, please someone help the man out.

But if you're doing it to learn, then by all means have at it.

For me I went with all stocked sized stuff.
1mm over................maybe, I'm not doing any type of FI, and don't wanna have to live above 3K to feel it in the butt dyno.
If the +size will benifit me, then someone is gonna get a good deal on valves again.

To Mfk-223: How can I find a part number for those HO springs? Or what dimensions should I ask for? I'll look into it if the machine shop doesn't have to do too much extra work to get them to seat correctly. As for the seats, would I need 2.3L retainers and locks too?

Good luck with things,
