ok so i have a 99' 2200 and was wondering what pulleys would fit it to gain more performance. I currently have an underdrive crank pulley but i heard that the alternator pulley on the 2.4 and the 2.2 are the same so could you put a 2.4 smalled lightened pulley on a 2.2 alternator? does ayone know? or have any information?
are you planing to run a stereo system? Cause if that is your intention, I dont recommend underdriving your alt pulley.
And please fill out your profile.
Yes you can.

you can run an underdrive pulley or your alternator and have a sound system? but my question was is the swap possible and would it work
i was talkin to Luis about this on aim and i had the same question. So can i order a alternator pulley off the GP for my 2200 even tho it says for the 2.4. What other companys make the crank pulleys for the 2200? If their isn't any then i guess i have to order it from RSM
If you order from RSM. I wish you the best of luck. I hope yours are better quality than the 2.4 are.
And no I'm not being bias.
There are currently no extra alternator pulleys, unless a couple people do not pay for them soon.
The alternator pulleys will fit 2200, 2.4, and 2.2 ecotecs.

yea i've heard about RSM thats why i wished someone else would make them. Are you goin to be making more alternatior pulleys? If you are or someone doesn't want theirs send me a PM and ill take it off your hands.
I need to get my hands on a 2200 crank pulley.
, after I finish the eco crank pulley.

yea you should let me get my hands on one too
what kinda gains would i notice from the lighten pulleys? any other pulleys you can get for the 2200? like waterpump or a/c?
if your looking for crank pulleys. search for s10 pulleys...since the s10 came with the 2200 i know there are some out there.
hmm never thought about that lol since the "Vertech 2.2" is a 2200
so technically ordering a undedrive alternator pulley for a 2.4 can be run on the 2200, guess what i think im gonna try it as soon as i get my throttle body done. also i was talking to ryan on AIM and i have an underdrive crank pulley only that i cant remember where exactly i got it from but i was like a fourth of the size and you see some notiveable gains.
well its not an "underdriver" pulley, its just a lighten version of the stock alternator pulley.
Anyone know where to look for the "Vertech" or 2200 pulleys? Summit doesn't list anything. Jegs is a pain to find stuff on. Anyone?
i'm running the RK sport crank pully on my 96 2.2 with a stereo system! all is fine when the car is running, but dont let the battery drain when the car is off
(it's a bitch to get it recharged, lol)

I have had mine on the stockbattery for a year now and no problems with my system. I jstu upgraded to a yellow top so I should have no probs at all in the long run. If you go with a smaller alt pulley then jstu upgrade your battery and you will be all good.
run your system with the car off, lol, let the battery drain, jump start it, and let the car idel for about 20mins, turn it off and try starting it (with the underdrive pulley),
it takes mine about 2hrs to fully charge up my battery at idle, and about 45mins while driving! and i have a RV deep cycle battery! (rated at like 1000 cold cranking amps!)

i think i would love to see some working links... sorry to rain on ur parade
i would love to get my hands on a set to fit my 2000, 2200?
thanks Chris
So uh, i thought that smaller pullys overdrive devices, instead of underdrive... a smaller crank would spin faster as small then it would big, and a smaller alternator pully would spin faster small than big too... so theoretically you would put a lightened big pulley on your alternator to make it drag much less (a bigger pulley travels slower, and easier as more belt touches it)
At least... it seems that way....

Packer fan, that's not right. If you left the stock crank pully size and made the alt pully smaller it'd overdrive. A smaller crank pully slows everything down because the engine is still gonna turn 550 at idle but the pully diameter is smaller reducing the ratios to the accessories. If you added a smaller crank pully then a smaller alt pully it'd underdrive everything but the alt and give the alt a better reason to slip when under load.
Underdrive pullies aren't a good idea for a daily driver or a car that has a high idle load such as a/c or stereo. In our cars the underdrive pully will affect the waterpump as well so overheat at idle on a hot day is more possible and a dead battery from idling too long is possible too expecially with the a/c on.

At the bottom it's showing what the rotor rpm is and what the engine speed has to be to get that rotor output with a 5" and 6" pully. If you'll notice the alt isn't putting much out at 1000 rpm and with an underdrive that's about what it runs at idle...we have 65 amp alternators...
