where do i hook up an oil pressure gauge on 97 sunfire gt 2.4l ld9. tried to hook it up to oil pressure sensor, but doesn't work
use the location marked 'OIL' (on the rear pass. side near the timing chain housing), or you can 'tee' off the stock sensor on the drivers side of the intake cam housing.
I heard that the sensor on the cam tower is the best location for a gauge on the LD9.. Thats where Ill be putting mine when the motor goes in here soon.

hey someone stole my pic , and wrote on it , LOL
atleast it was labled right so rock on
97cavie: I copied the pic back last summer when wild weasel and I had our long threads about installing oil pressure gauges on the 2.4, I added the wording for less confusion, but I knew you wouldn't mind
ya i connected to the wire from the pressure sensor to the ecu, and the needle goes all to 100psi then back to 0 and stays there, hmmm, that also happens on my talon on the factory oil gauge
you dont connect it to the wire from the harness, you add the gauge reader to the port, and share it with the stock sending unit (ie a T, the sending unit on one end, the Gauge unit on the other, and the port from the cam carrier)
pretend i'm new to this and explain where exactly i connect the gauge. remember...new to this
here's my thread from last fall w/pics on how to install the oil pressure gauge. Mine ended up breaking, so make sure to support it somehow, or mount the sender remotely, with a line leading to the brass 'T'
Oil Pressure Gauge install on 2.4 LD9
where is the stock sending unit located

what wire did you connect the gauge to? you do not want to hook the gauge up to any of the factory wiring.
the stock sensor is on the drivers side of the intake cam housing. Its black, about 3-4 inches long, and comes out at an angle towards the rear of the engine bay.
This picture shows what the stock sensor looks like, its the black piece on the bottom of the brass 'tee'
can i snip the wire on the sender and splice my gauge in there or do i need a brass T and a diff sender. if so, where do i get one?
where did you buy the gauge from? new? used? is it mechanical or electrical?
