i have posted here a few times....but anyway i just recently got done doing some work to my engine (96 w/a 2.2).
the work i had done was, new lifters, ported and polished intake and head, and then i had the head milled .40 but ran into some issues and put a shim in it so now the milled difference is more like .215. my question is do i need to run premium or should just good old 87 be fine. i am not worried about the 10-20cent difference in price at all, when gas is over $3.00 a gallon i don't think it really matters much.....lol

any input/help would be appreciated

I really hope you mean you milled the head .040, not .40...

yeah......oops it was .040" and then shimmed upto .0215"


sorry about that..................so should i be running 87, or should i be running higher???

I'd run premium since your effective compression has increased.
