hey everyone. I was just wondering, i read the sticky and it says you basically get the same results if you build your own intake as compared to payin $200+ for name brand. I was thinkin what size tube i should get from http://www.airflowonline.com to fit in my 98 cavi 2.2 2200 or should i order one from ebay and get a K&N filter since they are supposed to last you the life of your vehicle. thanks.

I use 3". Some people think that's way too big but I haven't seen any issues. Throttle response is still pretty crisp.

Ive run both 3 inch and a 2.5 inch intake pipe. i havent seen a difference in performance between the two. either way you go you should be okay. the way ive built mine is that its a 2 peice design. that way if its raining alot i can switch from a long ram intake to a short ram in about 5 minutes. just undo a couple of hose clamps and the lower end of it slides off and i move the filter to the top end of the intake.
