2200 intake box

i bought a aftermarket intake and it left my "2200 box" on. i was just wondering if the box did anything. if not how can i remove it without spending too much $? personally i think that the box has a cheap look to it.

........well first off due you have any pics of the intake??? cuz i bought mine and it came with a 3'' tube and cone air filter... if yours is the same then i recomnd just pulling the box right out. Its just going to limit air and the point of a new intake is to get more. SO wat you do is unhook your battery, unhook some simple screws and just pull the sucker out..... itll take a little muscle put can be done easily... 10 mins TOP.

Here is mine

If you notice above my batter my box is gone

sorry, i must not have been clear enough. right on top of your engine, connected to your throttle body is the box with "2200" on it. i've seen pictures of 2200's with out it. i cant remember where though...

OO alright yea, i no what you are talking about... well your going to need some more metal tube... you should be able to just get a small bend tube and then use the rubber hose connecters and the ties to put the 2 together (if you goto advance auto you should be able to get this all for roughly $20 bucks im guessing) ... but ive also looked into removing this box myself its not that hard just for some screws and the hose.... My only problem is i dont no what the hose does.... so now i guess we are in the same boat lol....umm any one no the answer to our question?

if your intake doesnt come with a rubber hose and/or a place to connect one, go buy a $5 breather(mini air filter) at pep boys or whatever and clamp that sucker on there. good 2 go

I dont suggest the mine filter. They get clogged tight with oil ever 6 months or so. Besides, your car runs better when you get proper vacume from the PCV valve to the intake. Just make a catchcan if you dont want oil in the intake.

Sorry for the big pic, damn file wont resize. Also, this pic is well over a year old, so alot of it has changed.
