I just got the B&M shifplus for tranny and I installed today, but I don't feel what I was expecting (what everyone's been telling me from their experience) to feel. People told me that my shifts would be stiffer and they said once you're used to it and you turn it off, it'll feel like your normal tranny is lagging. However, it feels like my car is lagging in general (tranny and performance wise) when I turn my shiftplus on. I don't know if it's meant to be only turned on when racing or what, but I'm not liking the outcome of this mod.

eh, its not for everyone, i have the autotrans interceptor, have had it for about 2 years now
i drive 99% of the time with it off, or fully down i guess, it seems to shift smoother with the actual interceptor on but i may be imagining things
in my oppinion it will make you car shift into gear harder, but it may not improve your performance
i guess what im trying to say is that its not the dream mod that a lot of people make it out to be
haha i mean people told me when i bought mine that simply from purchasing thins interceptor that i would be chirping gears now
not going to happen
hope everything works out for ya
If you don't feel a big difference on the shift, it's either install incorrectly or you don't use it like you should.
You can't put it on when you are on gear. You can put it on when on neutral or park. Mine never worked when I put it on when in gear.
It won't be more powerfull, it will shift harder.

I didn't like it when I installed mine. It seemed like it was hard on the tranny, and when I put it in the 2 position, I got warning lights on the cluster that wouldn't go away until I turned the car off. I installed it, drove a couple miles to try it out, left it turned off for about 6 months, and then took it out and sold it on here for like 30 bucks.

I like mine. Most of the time I can chirp the tires from shifting from 1st-2nd. That's pretty good imo for a pretty much stock 4dr 2200. I drive 99% of the time with it off though.
some 03-05 cars with abs , it might act weird with
but if you cant feel any kind of change , then its very possible its not installed right , or its defective
the track off light is normal , some cars will even get that in the 1st position , while other will only get it in position 2
it would only seam hard on the trans if youve never driven a car with built trans , there is less wear on the clutches when the trans shifts firmer and quicker
Heh.. sorry guys. I'm at work right now and on the way to work I felt the difference. I kept it on level one and yeah since I got on the highway and all, and had to merge quickly (rush hour Houston), I felt the quicker and firmer shifts. I guess I didn't expect what I wanted to because I kept on switching levels at stop lights and I only tested it out on the way to the gym, which I didn't go faster then 40mph. But yeah, overall I can feel it and I like it, and honestly there is no wrong way of installing it unless you are color blind. Plug it in to the two wires as instructed, and turn it on.
So sorry for the complaint, since a day later I found to like it. Can't drive it home today though, taking out the trans and getting it fixed and getting a new converter put in
Hopefully I'll have it again by Saturday night or early next week. I'll post up pics on the work later, most likely on a different thread.
get a 5spd, you'll love that even more

I know I would but it's so hard to find parts.. I know of one that lives here in Houston with me that had to go all the way to El Paso to get parts.
