just wondering if GM actually still produced these new to save me some junkyard scavenging and if so the price range they go for, i just ordered my 56 mm TB and now i wanna get the manifold to compliment it a lil bit. also from my search results i read im going to need 2 gaskets and a battery relocation, is all of this worth it for what im going to get out of this swap?
just go junkyarding for one. what's so hard about it?
well for one, finding a junkyard is so hard... a lot of em are being bought up and removing ALL the parts they got and making into an apartment complex, or a stipmall, or some other kinda crap like that... 2 around me just had that happen within the last couple of years... and its a pain in the ass to find another one without others knowing of where you can find one... not that no one here doesnt know, but u get the point...
yea, GM still makes the part:
http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results.cfm --- thats what your lookin for with the price and intake, even tho theres no pic...
u may also wanna check out this post on Quad4forums.com:
http://www.quad4forums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=478b43ae127d1003d24f0e5d1457d310&threadid=3252
u need to sign up on the site before you can read what it says, but just always be logged in and it wont be a problem... its ALL the info you would ever want to know and need to know about the HO manifold swap.
also, use this site:
http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/ (same as first one basically) when looking for GM parts.. anything with a part # will be found on this site... not always with a pic, or the best price, but you'll get a ballpark figure of what you probably will be spending for new parts...
if you have a junkyard around you tho, i would highly recomend going there, ull just have to do some scavenging and spend a couple hours lookin for what you want.... in the end its A LOT easier on your wallet
which, i dont care who you are or how much money you have, IS ALWAYS BETTER...
good luck dude
ok, so that first site doesnt work... just click on the third link and enter this part # at the top. . . 24572273
all other part #'s for this swap are in that 2nd link.
Sweet man thats basically everything i needed, I also remember reading that you look at the VIN number or something like that to know wether or not its an HO is that true?
no you look at the "log" or colector. the h.o. is fatter. way fatter.but i heard that you lose alot of torque. and only gain about 10 hp. is this true? any one dynoed a 2.4 with one of these?
Dark for fear of failure

Flowering forth foul nectar

LOL I saw a few today, but I didn't need them. I got my exhaust cam for my swap too from one of the LO's.

i dunno, but id be interested in finding an answer as well, lol.
I think i might have a H.O mani on my hands which I want to get rid of. I'll post pics later on tonight and tell me if it is or not.
Just curious as to which of the HO logs that part number (24572273 ) is for, since there are about 3 or so logs with different numbers. Hell, can't even remember which log the part number I had sitting around is for, maybe the one with a small fpr nipple on the back near the timing chain as well as the threaded larger bung on back by the tb. But was so long ago I forgot lol 24572301
Either way, yeah it'd be a waste to buy one from GM for $200, especially since the one I bought from Mantapart years ago was only $300 with the 2.4 head flange welded on.
ok, if i understand correctly what your asking...
i believe there are 2 HO intake manifold #'s that will work for the swap... and both of the part numbers are given in the post from quad4forums... as to which has the nipple and which doesnt, im not sure... theres no pic on the GM parts site of either of the manifolds, and at the moment those are my only points of reference.
hope i answered that correctly... if not, try to contact URWEAK. he'd without a doubt be more helpful than me in this case.
good luck, and again, sorry if i misunderstood.
Any HO log will work. I was just curious as to which numbers were which logs since I have my own part number database somewhere. But part numbers dont matter since you'd be crazy to buy one from GM instead of modding your own or simply buying one from Manta. The one with the flange welded on like I have from Manta is way cheaper then 200 from GMpartsdirect considering they'd tack on almost another $100-200 for shipping/handling
But yeah, disregard my question about which log the part number given was for.
ive got a rare factory egr HO id consider selling
I have an HO powdercoated gunmetal grey I'd love to sell....I'd even go down on the price I have it listed at in the classifieds...
