Ok Guys I know I have posted alot of questions about this but now I am into the specifics that I do not really understand from the write up.. your help is greatly appreciated at this point and I swear when I am done I will thank you as well as I can.
So these first two pics are together. The question I have is do I have to run the brake booster hose the first way or can I run it the way it is in the second pic, or does it even matter?
this pic I am not sure what sensors they are or where they go.
This pic I am not sure if this is the hose from the A/C it talks about extending is this the one or is it the wrong one. If it is the one i have to extend what size vaccum hose is that?
This little hole is the hole that I have to drill bigger for that cable to fit in that is right beside it?
From the pics I have seen this box is flipped the other way. Is this what your supposed to do so that the cable reaches the throttle body?
How does this come out to switch it with the 2.3L cable? Or am I just supposed to use the 2.4L throttle cable and cruise cable but hook it up to the 2.3L TB?
You're in Thunder Bay? I always thought you were from Ottawa... if so I'd go help you out.
1) Try to keep the brake booster line as close to the same length as stock as you can.. I can't tell what that first picture is showing.
2) Those sensors ..I have no idea without seeing more.. someone else 'might' be more familiar with wire colourings to know.. I'd be impressed.
3) Yea I extended that vacuum line to the TB, took off that top fitting and used another hose straight to the TB
4) Drilling holes into the TB wheel.. I have no idea.. I had the 2.3 bracket and everything was fine.
5) Yes flip the cruise control box the other way.
6) The 2.4 throttle cable and cruise cable lengths should be fine, no reason to replace them.

well I got the 2.3 Tb wheel as well but that clip doesnt fit.. mind you that was after switchin them so I will finish it. I used to live in Ottawa wish I still did I for real think I am the only one other than one guy that i have not met that i actually modding a cav. That first pic I ran the booster hose all the way around the top and under the manifold and had it come out right where the TB will be.
Thanx for the help so far
For the brake booster hose, i just cut the hard line i had shoter to meet the outlet on the TB. So i cant really help
The sensors, what did you unplug them from, they should plug right into whatever they came from. If they are the two plugs for the IAC and TPS then you cant plug them into anything till you have the TB on the car (you cant mix them up, they will only plug into what they should be plugged into)
The vaccum hose, unhook it from where it is connected now, down by the A/C, get a lenght of hose and extend it to meet the TB.
And i dont know anything about cruise sorry.

you've been helping me out quite a bit I appreciate that. keep the answers comin guys
yes you have to drill out the tb wheel hole thing to make the cable fit i even had to cut a notch so the cable would lay in it otherwise it was partially open and for the brake booster i just got rid of the original metal tubing and used some hose that fit
I'll agree with the others, try to keep the brake booster line about the same length.
I uses a 1/2" I.D. hose.
Basically if you have cruise control, you plug it into the original spot.
The black box on your firewall is your cc.
I had to dremel open the bar on the casing, turn it 180 degrees and the chroed should reach.
Since your FPR is on the mani now, you plug up the port on the tb.
One of those sensor plugs goes into that module you pulled off the 2.4L manifold.
Its the one that had the line that came off the mani is self in the front and a little bracket.
I don't see it in the pics so you have to get it and hook it back up.
The other senser plug goes to the IAC on the TB.
There's one more that goes to your tps but it looks like you have that one hooked up.
Its the smallest plug and kinda square/trangleish shaped.

Remember....syringes go in the RED waste basket.
i think the 2 plugs are egr and iat. the bigger one is EGR and dont need to plug it back since you dont have egr anymore and the other one (smaller one) is your for your iat, it plug on the intake tube.
ya I am pretty sure it is the erg and the one for my intake
I'm gonna work on it some more today I'll let you know how my progress goes
So today I got the cruise box flipped around so far and moved all the wiring so it looks not so messy. I switced the cruise cable with the 2.3L one cause it fits on the throttle bracket better but I do however have to get confirmation that this is the way its supposed to be (pic below) In the write up it said something about drilling the hole to fit isn't the cruise cable just supposed to slide over that little bolt looking thing like the way I have it set up here? It's the bottom one that i am talking about not the throttle cable that;s already in place. If this is wrong then does it go in the other hole like the throttle cable?
looks like you have it right.
The part about drilling a new hole is if you use a 2.3 t/b with a 2.4 bracket..... the lenght is all screwed up then. If you use a 2.3 t/b with 2.3 bracket your good...... same if you use a 2.4 t/b and 2.4 bracket.
Yes, and the plugs are EGR and IAT......

I'm gonna keep finding new questions
This one is regarding the nipple on the bac side of the intake manifold. The one that would be bhind the 4th runner. Do I just plug this one ?
Not to bring this back from the dead, but I have no idea how to hook up the 2.4L throttle bracket to the 2.3L TB.
If anyone can help, it would be much urgently appreciated! I am in the final stage of the install and realized i needed the bracket to mount the throttle.
THANKS

You have to modify the 2.4L bracket to work with the 2.3L TB, otherwise the throttle will stay partly open. You are supposed to use a 95' 2.3L J-body bracket. I just used an early 90's SOHC Grand Am TB and bracket. I used a washer and a few angles welded to it, then screwed it to the bracket to work. Easiest way though, is to use the 95' J-body bracket.

"Youth in Asia"...I don't see anything wrong with that.
This is so @!#$ frustrating. I had the thing almost 100% done, and then i forgot to @!#$ hook up the throttle bracket.
Im thinking of just using the 2.4L tb, becuase i think i broke the 2.3L one anyway,

Wow, if i knew i had to go through that. I wouldn't have even started installing the manifold. I don't know how to weld.

The intake can use the 2.4L TB easily. You just have to drill the top left and the bottom right bolt holes on the 2.4L TB larger for the larger 2.3L manifold bolts. You also don't have to weld anything to make the older 2.3L bracket and J-body cable work. It would just require being a little more creative, but my dad has a welder and he likes to weld, so I figured what the hell.
