NICE, the only thing that sux is the top mount intercooler w/scopp. More for drag racing than street. I wonder if its street legal.

Not a bad deal. the engine is fully built. Pistons, rods, valve springs, cams, intake, clutch, flywheel. its a comlete engine, alternator and all.

if you click on other packages there is also a 170hp eco ($5,500) and a 425hp eco($11,000).

it says for offroad. but seriously you could ahve a shop move the intercooler jsut redo some manderl tubing.

This has been brought up before but I think this is a new version of the engines they build.

They are meant for sand rail cars but I suppose you could drop one in your j-body if you really wanted to.

I ALMOST wet myself until I saw the price tag and THEN I wet myself. I agree, one could build their current Ecotec for less than that.

Ever rock crawled before? That turbo isn't going to do you any good on a rock crawler. You need lots of torque and a drive line with plenty of gear reduction. Boost won't do you any good.

Boost = torque when you properly size a turbo. Downsize the gears and it would be perfect.

Maybe. I dunno. A lot of people where I live go offroading especially rock crawling and they all avoid turbo charging like its Monica Lewinsky on a bad roofie trip. A lot of them run 4-bangers but they run N/A. A few use Ecotecs because for the tube-chassis rock buggies they're perfect. They're light enough and the Ecos make plenty of torque at a pretty low RPM.
