O2 sensor cable length
Monday, March 20, 2006 7:35 AM
Hi
i want to know if the length of the O2 sensor of the header (1st O2 sensor) have to be a specific length so the car can perform correctly and the computer dont read something different and began to throw codes.

Well to be more specific... do the length of the wire will make any difference on the car, on the reaction or how the car drive?

Because i had a problem that i post before but nobody was able to tell lol.
when i extended the wire a bit more (was extended already by my mechanic) the car was driving better but it still do like give a gas and then cut the gas, you feel like you were pressing the pedal and lifting you foot out of the pedal. and sometimes after i turn a 90degree turn and give it some gas the car will get stuck on a rpm like 3k or 4k. i have to lift my foot and press the pedal again.

Also i want to know if i extend the wire more would it damage or make worse the car?
