Putting in a engine
Saturday, March 18, 2006 11:31 AM
I finally got a new engine, well not new but it runs, and the place i got it from isnt doing a core charge so i want to rebuild the screwed up engine.

But i dont know if it is fixable, some people say i threw the #3 bearing but i still dont know. What i do know is that it was low on oil and someone drove the engine way to hard. It makes a really loud clanking sound and i was wondering how do i find out if i could rebuild this engine.

I want to build it and have it set up to run a turbo with a good amount of boost. But how do i find out if the old engine is even worth trying anything with.

thanks

You feel relatively comfortable with the actual "rebuilding" of said engine, but in the same breathe you don't know how to tell if the block is even salvageable...?

It still runs but no i dont know if its salvageable. But im still young that means i still have alot to learn and you cant learn without trying.

The car still runs it just has alot less power and makes a very loud clanking sound.

thanks
