Hey I was wondering how bad the engagement is on a spec stage 4? I dont imagine taht there is much slipping involved with the stage 4 to make a smooth take off, but I was wondering how bad is it compared to the stage 3. I imagine that when I put the motor back in and megasquirt on, I will close to over the torque limits of the stage 3, and while I have everything out this time, I mise well put the right clutch in, but I also want to be able to drive this thing to the strip and to shows, so, no need for headjerking take offs. I just wanted some reviews between the stage 3 and 4. Also Karo, if you see this, what kinda prices can you hook me up with on either of these shipped to 53811
Thank you much everyone! email, codyw_9@hotmail.com
The stage 4 is noticeable "less smooth" as far as engagement goes. The stage 4 is unsprung while the stage 3 is sprung. This alone will make a huge difference in how the car takes off. You won't be able to slip a 4 like you would with a 3. Good luck.
Blew it up
the stage 3 clutches ive driven , have been like a on-off switch as far a engagement goes
forgot there is transmission fourm for these questions

Stage 3 is streetable,
Stage 4 is NOT.
you'd DIE in traffic, not just the clutch, your leg too.

Thank you guys for the feedback, I was more set on stage 3 then the 4 anyway, and now I'm going to get the 3 for sure, as soon as Karo contacts me!
Hey,
Don't they have like a stage 3+ or something (spec)........
maybe look into that, and you might note, that the stage 2+ is more money then the stage 3...... just wierd price break downs, thats all..........
just something to look into before you get your heart set on a certain clutch.

I am well over claimed 110% hp of Stage III. figure 120 stock to the wheel, 110% would be 252.
I am at about 150% hp and 170% tq and I have Stage III on slicks which is still holding, questionable tho.
I might have to get the Stage IV here soon, so their clutches are way under rated in my opinion.
Speaking from the experience.

yes there is a 3+ and 3+that just came out a little while ago im going with the stage 3+.
this is what they say> Stage 3+
Features a streetable high clamp pressure plate and full face carbon semi-metallic disc. Listed as an upgrade to the stage 3, it offers torque capacities more comparable to the stage 5 but with drivability equal to, and in some cases better than, the stage 3. The high capacity and excellent drivability characteristics of this clutch is a result of years of research and development for this SPEC exclusive disc compound
I don't mean to be a dick... but 110% of 120 is 132... just a thought. 100% of 120 is 120... so you know. Sorry this doesn't contribute anything to the topic, but numbers are rather important when dealing with machines. I think you meant 210% of 120 which is 252.
It is 110% add on the top of what your motor puts down.
That is the way I thought about, noone would buy it if it was the other way around.
