I am going with the RKSport header and Dual Exhuast Combo. Car needs an upgrade. should I just leave the cat off or with it be way to loud? Any suggestions are welcome.
what about a high flow one???
If i got one it would be the high flow one RKsport sells as well. Just the thing is like190 bucks. Just have never gone no cat like i am in my SRT so no sure what it is gonna sound like on a non turbo.
magnaflow is less expensive and it's a great cat
yeah dont pay that there are other out there that are good/better for cheaper......i dont know if it will make your car that much louder but you will probably have black exhaust
I have one true love in my life...And my girlfriend sits next to me in it
And i have come to the conclusiong there is no bolt in stuff huh?
Well I dont want to have black exhaust fumes. Car is only gonna be driven about 300 miles a month but dayum that would be ghetto.
I would go high flow, thats what I am going to do.
umm i don't know about the blackexhaust fumes. unless he's running rich. now, if you held piece of white paper in front of the exhaust tips, then yea eventually it would have some discoloration to it, but not in any way are you going to be throwin up black smoke
If you dont have the cat. to clean the fumes going through the exhaust then when it comes out it will be dirty making it black.......I know that was the case with my buddies integra when he did just for @!#$s and giggles and black smoke came out so he went and bought himself a high flow......
besides your not going to get any noticeable or even any extra power from have no cat vs. a high flow cat. so you might as well stay legal
I have one true love in my life...And my girlfriend sits next to me in it
No catalytic converter will gain you no extra power. It would make your car sound like ass and you'd probably lose backpressure because of it.
No Catalytic converter on a f/i vehicle is different...

if you want a good cat thats relatively high flow and has a nice low aggressive tone then get a megan racing cat, i got mine off ebay for $275+$50 s+h and i love it
many changes in the making
my favorite part about doing bodywork,.......... bondo bugers
i tried running with no cat when mine rotted of and my car ran @!#$ty probabally due to no back pressure.plus you get a big ticket for not having one and you wont pass emissions
dude, if you are spending $275 for a cat, you are insane. the magnaflow #94035 is only $75, and it is proven to be an excelent cat, and wont throw codes.
Ill make a sig someday
So, would the 94035 be the ideal cat for my car (and still won't throw any codes)? It's a 2000 Z24.

i personally had a magnaflow cat for my 01 Z. it did not throw any codes what so ever. it seems like a cat tones the exhaust aswell beacause after my friend put his hi flow cat on, his car sounded way way better.
Hey crystal, it's nari from Ag. I've got an 01 z also, it doesn't throw codes,
I got it from summit because they gave me a 10 dollar discount because I bought a short shifter from them, I've never had any problems with the cat.
The only code I've ever thrown is from the header 02 sensor which has gone away for some reason >.>
either way, If I had to reccomend one, it'd be the 94035 cat from magnaflow, with the 02 sensor.
Magnaflow cat does not throw codes. Mine didnt. And it sounded a little better with a high flow cat as well.

Well, I just ordered the 94035 from Jason. Thanks guys!

hey if i have a 2.5 inch cat back would i buy a 2.5 inch cat or a 2.25?
^^^^ Depends, whats your downpipe size? Plus, if you plan on running bigger exhaust than 2.25" later, then stick with a 2.5".
Also, my buddy put on a pacesetter header, magnaflow cat, and full 2.2.5" cat-back w/o a resonator and it sounded very raspy, like a honda. Personally, I wasn't a fan. What's wierd, when I had the same setup on my car, it didn't sound that way!
Failure is not failure if you learn from it

Keep it all the same size and get 2 1/2" but just from personal experience, 2 1/2" is too big for our cars (in my opinion).

Hey NJHK, I've got my Hahn downpipe and it's 2 1/4". I am going to cut it and put a 2 1/4" cat in there. But if you run the cat after a downpipe, then you may want 2 1/2" or whatever your piping is to keep them equal. What are you gonna run with your turbo setup?

I see you guys like the 94035, but also look at the 5300 series. They are round ones and a bit smaller overall. They are also a few bucks cheaper to boot.

I have a 2 1/2" open downpipe
