do i need to hook up the egr is it safe to run with out it? if i put back on will i get better performance ?? or can i just put a block off plate over the hole?????
covered many times.
EGR wont effect performance while having it disconnected..... but you will get a CEL for it. You can cover it with the block off plate...... you can make an extension, and bolt up the EGR......

but what does the egr do in the frist place ????
exhaust gas recirculation
it spits exhaust gas into the intake to cool the combustion temps
you can block it off. but you'll throw an EGR code, and you might lose some gas mileage.
SO if i just put a metel plate over it will do nothing to harm my engine i mean there is spose to be exhast coming out of there so it just like holding it all back and thats bad for it???????????
