Sorry if im making a post i shouldnt have to... but i did a search and couldnt find anything.... anyone ever do a write up for taking out the bong.. i just want to hear how much work its gunna be before i get out there and start messin with stuff so if anyone can say how hard it is or not that would be great....
Well i assume you have a sunfire.
Best way to go is remove the plastic on the driverside of the bumper, the black stuff at the very bottom of the car. the bolts are 7mm. also you may find it easier to remove the driverside headlight. The bong is connected to your window washer tank. Its held in my 3 or 4 bolts, i cant quite remember, and a little plastic clip which by the way you will not see til you try to pull it out.

You do know the bong is part of your stock intake, and is a good way to remove some uselss weight.
I have a cavalier and just removed mine this weekend. It wasnt to big of a deal. I removed the inner wheel well shroud, and me head light on drivers side. After that i could see everything.

i removed the drivers side wheel(made it alot easier) the fender liner and a few bolts and it came out.. didnt remove the headlight, i think it took me and my friend like 20 minutes to do... i cant rember exactly how many bolts i took out, honestly i only rember the one that you have to put back to hold the washer tank inplace... i did this about 2 years ago when i first got the car...

Removing the "bong" serves no purpose unless you are either running a factory airbox OR you have a cold air intake that goes in that area anyways. But cost effectively... short ram is the best way to go IMO.

It wasn't hard to take out... I washed mine and put it back in. It's a pain and takes longer than you'd expect, but it's not hard and doesn't take forever. I heard that someone tested and found that at WOT there's something like 20% better airflow without it? ANyone have any experience with performance sans bong?
really is there better airflow with this out!?...i took it out for the heck of it...didnt really think that woulld actually impact anything... proof anyone?

Yeah but supposedly in doing that it reduces airflow. I dunno, it's just what a stoner kid told me, and he has an identical car to me.
its very simple to take out... i might even say extreamly simple... when i took mine out (like 2 years ago) it was filled with water...

I used a rotory tool, like a dremel, and cut the bottom off, then cut the clip, which is more like a bolt, and threw it in the dumpster.
Some times the best way to get that tailgater off your but is to light a fart.
