Well you can't look at "what is best for more horsepower?" but you have to look at your ultimate goal. What do you want to do? Are you prepared to spend money to tear open your motor? Do you recognize how much it DOES cost to do engine rebuilding? Are you planning on boosting?

If you were to buy one of the Cylinder Head packages, which package would you get? I can tell you this from experience...if you're going all motor, stay with a 3 angle valve job, not an 5 angle UNLESS you plan on putting some big camshafts on. 5 angle is more suitable for boost applications.

As far as the Engine kits go, do you know what compression you would even want to run? In my opinion, it's not worth buying an engine kit because you're essentially paying someone to get the same parts you can and install it inside the block and mail it to you when you can buy the parts yourself and find someone locally to install everything all at once and not have a middle man.

From the sounds of it (and this is no type of put down) you aren't ready to do any type of engine work yet. I think you need to read up more on what an actual cylinder heads job is and what parts do what on the cylinder head.

I am here to help, not to put down, and I'm sorry if it sounds that way but I don't want to see anyone go and just buy parts without knowing why they are buying parts or buy parts for the wrong reasons.

If you have more questions, just ask me.

Ok, my suggestion is do the turbo kit before the motor work. This way you have somewhere to start from. Your motor can handle boost stock (it's been proven time and time again) but if you do want to maximize your performance and do upgrades, you can still do so.

As far as compression, when running boost, it's best to lower the compression for better tuning capabilities. You're running about 10:1 compression now...running 9:1 would be suitable to do.

Another reason I say do the turbo kit first is because of money. Say you finish your motor from top to bottom...well, if you're still driving it, you'll actually be slower because of the lower compression and big valve job, by this time you're out of money and don't know when you'll have money to finish the turbo setup OR you won't have any money to finish the setup. Now you've just spent thousands and thousands of dollars on motor work for nothing....see my point? Atleast if you do the turbo setup first, you'll be quick and you'll just be working from that point.

Also, it's best to know how to maintaine boost in it's minimal stages before you wanna be "speed racer" and running higher horsepower numbers...think of it as crawling before you walk. It wouldn't be a smart idea to go from a 140 HP car to a 300+ HP car without knowing how to maintain it first hand. Not saying you can't lower your PSI but I don't think you'd want to lol.
