As far as the tip being a little bit off-center, thats just the way the Borla system sits I guess. I tried adjusting it some, but it didn't do much. Yeah, that is the RK bar, and I've had it on the car for about 2 years now. No, no kit yet. I have the full Wings West Avenger kit coming next week. I seriously cannot even see the system at all, except for the tip. My car is so clean because I live in Cali and I only drive it during the summer and when its dry out in the winter. Thanks for the comments

Yeah I love California, even though the weather can be mighty nasty at times. But at least where i live it never snows so there isn't any salt on the roads. Oh, and thanks Eric for getting me that CARB tag for my header.
Nice, I like the way it tucks in there stock.

True but in some peoples cases (like mine) it stil throws a code. CEL + inspection = Bad no matter what little code it is...

couldnt you find a way to prove to the people who are inspecting that its legal though....or is that just more work than its worth

what size pipe do you have from the header to the borla system?

Probably but they will probably tell you "If it's CARB legal then why are you throwing a code?" lol

He is running the stock cat which I think is 1 7/8"s and the borla is a 2" pipe.

That "CARB legal" cat isn't legal for use on our cars. There is only a specific list of vehicles that the CARB EO# is valid for, and the Cavalier is not one of them. NJHK, I got the system through eBay. The pipe running from the header to the borla is 1 7/8" inner diameter, and the Borla system is 2" inner diameter pipe.
legally you can replace the cat after 50,000 if its causing it to fail emissions , or is border line
also the only other way to legally replace the cat is when it gets damaged , ie...... large speed bump and bottoming the cat on it
i shoulda traded you the tag for the exhaust , LOL
your welcome

I have no worries about bottoming out with my Tokico D-Specs. Besides, I really don't think the aftermarket cat will flow much better than the stock piece or make much of a difference.

If you had only know Eric, if you had only known.
Your wrong, it will flow more. It doesn't matter tho, that 2" pipe isn't doing anything for you either but make noise.

Your right, but its basically a stock cat with a larger opening. There isn't any difference between the core of the stock cat and the Magnaflow OBD-II cat, since they're both 3-way catalysts.

Here is where you are wrong. Check my registry. That 2" ID pipe is doing quite a bit. I have had extensive head work and valvettrain work done to my motor, and man does my car pull like a mofo now after replacing my stock system with the Borla. Its all about exhaust velocity, not pipe diameter. Besides, if i went with a 2.25" OD exhaust system, like a Magnaflow, overall it would only be 1/8" larger than the borla system, which won't do much of anything.
It didn't bother to look at your reg. Still I think its a waste of money for that catback and more of a waste on a stock cat. My cat is much bigger than my stock cat and has a bigger opening, Much better flow.
