Is it possible to swap an 2.2 97 cavy engine with a 2.2 ecotec engine?

Yes it is possible.

You would need the Engine, Transmission, Upper Mount, PCM, Fuel System & Ignition System. The best thing for you to do is get yourself a donor car so you can take everything out of the engine bay.

and a lot cheaper, if you take into account time spent, gas for running back and forth for parts, and the arm and a leg GM will charge you if you need to replace anything.

well in that case im just going to purchase a z24 engine and replace mine. It should swap perfectly because the stickers in the car read 2.4 but the engine is a 2.2. whoever had it before swapped the engine out,.
