I've got the Thermal Research Cat-back, and it sounds nice. You can get one made for cheaper than the price (i got mine used ).

Whatever you get make sure it has a decent size resonator.

No resonator = can of bees.

ive got a dual exit magnaflow, 2.25 inch piping, magnaflow cat , and 27" long resonator and it sounds nice. doesnt sound loud at all very clean sounding and no raspiness. just some popping but i think all jbodys or most cars for that matter have that problem.

There is not perfect exhaust all cars are different... and it's a 4 banger... it's going to sound like that unless you put a 20" res on it to tone it down a little... but for companies... you want the best go with Borla 2.25 inch piping to the cat

Borla Pro XS muffler on stock piping sounds deep. Or pretty much anything with a big enough resonator.

i bought 2 cheap mufflers on ebay that were like 60 bucks total for both of em.i had them welded on to my car and i was positive i was going to get that "can of bees" sound. but guess what, it has a deep tone, no rasp at all. i have no idea how that worked out, but im happy. some people even say it sounds like a 6 cylinder, weird. oh yea and the rest of my exhaust is stock, no header, no high flow cat, everything stock except for my mufflers.

Every engine and every car is different, so no matter what it sounds like on one car it can sound completely different on yours. A catback from either Magnaflow or Borla would both be great choices but I would recommend adding a resonator (maybe 18"+) to smooth out the sound. A good size resonator would be a great choice if you're looking to avoid raspiness or a 'can of bees.'

Blown.

I would say the best out there for the money is the true maganaflow catback. A great high quality and not quite the price of borla.

i have a 2.5 inch dynomax ultra flow - welded muffler - it gives a great -true tone. not loud at idle and never like some of those cherry bombs that are deafening - u definately hear it and it cant be beat for flow.
