What is it with all of these swap posts?
Tuesday, November 08, 2005 4:55 PM
5 current posts all asking for information that has been gone over many times. Use the search button! Anyone else tired of all of these posts and giving the same answers over and over again?

This is a message forum, that is what this place is for. I'm tired of post like this. If you do not like reading them then don't.

while i agree its a forum for posting....and granted its a message forum, message forums are built in with search functions so that the same question isnt asked over and over again.

the level of common sense usage around here isnt as high as it used to be. (not directed to anyone in this post, however in general)

notice how they delete posts where people double post in different forums....

its so things arent cluttered up by the same CRAP, even in the same forums with double posts, mods usually delete one.

it should go without saying that there are multiple posts on engine swaps, how to do an engine swap, intake and exhaust...

however people have gotten so inherently lazy sally arses, that not many bother to look for the information anymore...

half the time, the same question one asks is simply 3 posts below them......

I know im just a noob but, how many times this week have yyou guys gotten a new question never asked before? Im gonna guess maybe once or twice. If everyone only asked questions never before asked there would be no need for this site to run anymore. Everyone could just use the search button and find their answers to anything and everything jbody.

I think you are over reacting, all the questions i asked in my thread i had to ask since any other threads did not make it clear to me.

that makes no absolute sense whatsoever....

when people ask the same crap over and over.... you sit there and dwell on the same crap...

when people ask new questions, or even new tech questions, when they are answered, theres more info learned, and more advancement in modding.

think about it.

if you had a dumbass when you were back in school who kept asking, "whats 2+2, teacher"

all the way through 12th grade.... you prob wouldnt advance much in teaching....

but since each year you learn something new, and the stuff you learned in grade and middle school isnt REHASHED 50million times, you learn more stuff, become more intelligent by not relearning and teaching the same stuff.

as long as people keep asking new questions, and more technical question, then maybe more people will do more mods than just intake and exhaust.

remember in middle and highschool, they dont start RE-teaching 2+2 arithmatic....

if you need that teaching, you go to that grade... alot of the basic stuff like intake exhaust tuner tube, etc is what the NEWBIES forum was created for...

its alot easier to reclarify yourself in a post you;ve ALREADY created, rather than creating more clutter on the same topic. when the post returns to the top, people will answer your questions.... just a thought.

What is with these people getting their boxers bunched up over a thread they didn't have to read in the first place? Use the "Next Topic" button!

Seriously though...as much as J-Body owners like to think they're on the "cutting edge" of the sport compact industry, sadly there is little if anything NEW around here and there hasn't been for quite some time.

Sure, swaps have been covered. So have HO intakes, nitrous kits, secret cams, the GM supercharger, MSD boxes, throttle bodies, cold air intakes and a million other parts. If people stopped posting questions about "already covered topics" the forum, as mentioned above, would cease to exist.

As far as we know there's nothing new to talk about, but there are over 30,000 people here now. If they want to discuss it, let them have at it. It's their forum as much as it is yours. Nobody says you have to read it.

Come to think of it, THIS topic has been covered ad nauseum in this forum. Why didn't YOU search and resurrect one of the 2345623456 other posts discussing it? Making a thread to say "OMG I CANT BELIEVE THEY DONT SEARCH AND THEYRE CLUTTERING UP THE FORUMS!" only adds to the already existing clutter. Relax. It's just the internet.
