Ok well i have a custom intake on my car right now.. but i was wondering about intercooler style intakes... do you think they would actually work good? i was just gona buy one and change all the piping around to make it fit my car since its pretty cheep.. there is a plexi cover you can put on or take off in the front...

ahah thought it would be kind of cool and in and for me any way its not like i am trying to pretend i got boost since i do have the supercharger... but yea let me know what you think..and here is the picture/info on it..

Mandrel bent aluminium piping and front mount. The air filter is placed between front bumper to suck cold air directly to the throttle body. A transparent plexi can also mounted to deflect water. Dyno horsepower increases 4 to 10 hp.

All dynos run on a Mustang dyno

if you ever install something like that on a car i'll petition to have you banned. lol. RICE and no gains. look at all that damn piping. And think about water. do YOU feel like getting hydrolocked?

Since you already have a supercharger, just get an intercooler instead of that dumb thing. Those are no different than a cai. What you need is a real intercooler, youll much happier with it than one of those.

It's an "Interfooler".

and how would you do that without major modifications?

I would just stick with the "cai"

Adding an aftercooler wouldn't really be that difficult in the whole scheme of things. due to the location of the blower piping wouldn't be difficult at all. And procharger sells some extremely efficient aftercoolers.

OH. And technically an interfooler is an intercooler look-a-like, without end tanks lol. Combined with a spooling exhaust tip and a Tsunami electronic blow off valve, you can have all the look of a mad tyte turbo car, without the expense... and the power gain.

He has a GM supercharger. How are you going to fit one of these inbetween the blower and head?? http://www.procharger.com/intercoolers.shtml

Actually adding an aftercooler or intercooler would be next to imposible for me.... i have the GM supercharger, my intercooler is an alcohol injection kit.. keeps the supercharger ice cold... as the supercharger is bacially bolted right to the head... well there is little 4inch intake tubes... but its all cast into one peice...

ahah and i would make my own tubing if i did get it... mine would be much shorter and less bends... as for the hydrolock i think i am already risking that with my set up now...here are the pics of my set up now

**note the stock intake is gone now and in its place is a tank of alcohol**

Ah OK. I didn't even check your reg to see which blower you had. For some reason I figured it was a centrifugal blower.

huh...so how in the hell does it get cold air if you have to have plexi glass around it to keep water out? I guess i just dont understand

the plexiglass does not bolt flush to the filter, it has a spacer of some sort so air can go around the plexi. The plexi comes off to allow "ram air". They installed one on Horsepower tv a while back on the civic they built.

I think it would work better than your current cai. On a NA car, it could have a ram air effect, which would be benificial. Unfortunately there isn't a proper way of testing this.

if you had that it would cause cooling problems since its not like an intercooler and doesnt just have fins, it would cause a lack of air to your rad. my $.02

correct. and did we already mention the ridiculously long piping scheme involved?

Yea i was just thinking about that too.... i am getting a new rad for the car... bigger if i can, but i might just get this intake any way and see how it is... it would work nicly i think if there was no plexi glass there

I don't remember. You maybe could go to powerblocktv.com and click on Horsepower tv and archive it.

I think with your set up you would be just fine using your factory air box. Since your running a blown engine your going to be getting all the air you need and do not need to worry about intake restriction. The cold air setup may make a Hp or two put your never going to feel that at the wheels any way.

Yes but every hp counts and adds up over time ahahaha

and no im not using the factory air box... i dont have any thing of the stock air intake in the car any more...
this is what it looks like now in there

i also put my cone filter that far down almost on the ground... it didnt do a damn different thing than using stock intake box with drilled hole in the bottom....
