I was hoping to find this problem in previous searches, but I think this is a different case. This happened after the HO IM swap. After the engine is warmed up to the normal operating temperature, a loud continuous knock is heard when idling. It will go away if I turn the steering wheel and hold tension to it. The knock is more of an air pressure knock, instead of a metal to metal contact type noise. There has to be someone else with this problem. Any ideas?
hmmmm i sense a relation to the valvetrain considering the affect of the steering, and we all know about the HO relation from power steering pump to cams.
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
I was thinking the same about the power steering pump. Is this something I should worry about or can even fix?
