so after i put urethane mounts on my 2.2 - my car went insane... the whole interior is shaking; when i look into my mirrors, i see 10 of everything. the car gotten so much noiser too. and the worst part is that the upper mount is still shaking. anybody experienced this before.. what'd you guys suggest?

Wait until you try solid mounts. You'll see 20 of everything

That's.. uh... normal? I guess we all get used to it in the end

You should try it on a convertible Cowl shake RULES!

Andrey, when you went to buy them, you should have seen disclaimers of shaking of interior. Also, if you understood what the motor mounts do, you'll understand why your interior shakes.

Having stiffer motor mounts will keep your motor still, now that your motor isn't shaking, it's sending more vibrations to your chassis which results in your interior shaking more but that should only happen when you're idle.

your top mount shouldn't really be shaking though...
You did leave the stock rubber in there, and only added the poly right?
To reduce vibrations, you can loosen the nuts on the top of the mount a little.

Vibrations should be the same in every J motor...the only difference I hear is that automatics don't vibrate as much as manuals or vice versa.

That must be vice versa, because I don't think it would be possible for more than my auto (but I had those studs torqued down like crazy, so I dunno)

No vibes from my 2.4, upper only right now, but i do plan on lower, maybe some motors are more balanced than others?

I believe the lower mount is the weaker mount.

autos virbrate with greater intensity and lower frequency because they idle much lower. but the vibration you're experiencing is a little odd... make sure you have the mounts in right. i have the lower mount in my eco right now, and the difference is barely noticable

Exactly, that's why I can't stand when people bitch about vibrations...

I installed them last weekend, annoying at first but I don't notice the vibes after a while. The vibes are only there when you start and at idle. Can sound stupid but I like that Only the mirror shaking is the only thing I don't like about that, but I'll probably try to find a way to get rid of this (rubber or something else).
