Also the volume as displayed on the pump is corrected to 15 degrees Celsius (at least here in Canada), so there's some wiggle room there as well.

My 03 I'm almost positive is 16 gallons
It's not just GM. Most newer vehicles have gas tanks made out of some sort of plastic. At least they won't rust.

then they moved up to the 15.1 or 15.2 during the middle years
the latest ones are supposed to have 14.1 or 14.2 gallon tanks...
owners manual says my 1997 sunfire has a 15.2 gallon tank.

I put 6 oz of "stabil" into the gas tank which they said 1 oz covered 2.5 gallons of gas. So 6 oz = 15 gal.... i've sure even if i am off a little bit, i am ok.

14.1 gallons it says in the '03 dealer brochure, which I still have from when I bought my car. I realize it varies over the years.
