Ok, most of you know Im building a head for my 2200 but not a bottom end as of yet. I have no cam either. I just recived a set of valve springs from JBP and they have a spring within the spring
. Is that going to be to much spring pressure for the rockers to open the valve? im on stock lifters and cam with Crane pushrods and rockers. Anyone know about this?
see the smaller spring inside?
you might want to get some aftermarket lifters for those valvesprings. dual valvesprings are... well... yea you see how much pressure it takes. i wouldn't even put those in until you have a solid cam.

I called JBP today and they said the inner spring is to help close the valve a bit calmer so you dont get valve tic. And that they would be fine with a stock cam and lifters

Thats good.
I have the2.2 valve springs from JBP, i wonder why mine don't have the double spring. Maybe they switched, cause i got mine earlier this year.

ya, cough, cough..... oem, haha. where do they sell the ARP ones? i didn't know about them?
That inner spring is really only a damper, to help with valve spring harmonics and all that. Should be good to go.
Also, did you stay at the stock 1.6 installed height??
