2200 and 2.2 header
Tuesday, August 09, 2005 2:38 AM
I have a 97 2.2 and I am thinking about buying a header from a guy on the org. but he says he has a 2200. I think it is either a 97 or 96. Will it fit my engine? Also it is a 4-1, does that mean it is better for top speed or take off? Thanks

There are TWO different non eco 2.2's!

95-97 2.2 ohv

and

98-02 2200 ohv

4-1 is generally better for top end............

If its the same header I think it is I've been trying to get it for? 2 weeks now and he stopped emailing me Good luck

it will, the ports will be off a slight bit, but 1/32 or so...not really anything noticable or performance loss.

theres been plenty of people to run 95-97 headers on 2200;s.... in your case its just reversed.

hehe, don't give him too many ideas! haha I can see some poor guy with squared off ports into the header because he went a little too far on one side LMFAO!

port-matching can be tricky and takes skill and a lot of time. only for those with steady hands lol.
