i have a weapon-R intake and i was just wondering if any of you thought that the filter was crap, cause i thought that it looked really restrictive. so....i was wondering if it would be worth my money to go and buy a replacment filter from K&N. and if so would you happen to know a product number or a filter for a specific car that would work? or is there a universal filter? thankx for any responses and help

i have a weapon R intake also, and i ended up replacing the filter w/an APC filter. it was universal cuz u basically pop it onto your intake and adjust the clamp to close it. also i was told that K&N was one of the better brands of filters to get. the only reason that i went w/APC is cuz im poor or else i would have gone w/the K &N.

see my intake w/APC air filter
I dont have the Weapon-R intake but I would still say go with a K&N replacement filter.
any idea if there is a universal K&N filter then, or should i use a filter from a specific car?

dont really need a K&N unless you just want the name and stickers for your car. any guaze filter will do the same job provided you keep it clean.
size doesnt really matter. just make sure what you buy will fit.
haven't used the filter that came with my dragon filter yet. been almost a year. went and got a "spectra" brand filter from auto zone. would have gotten k&n but I wanted a blue filter.

only problem is, foam filters clog easily and cant really be cleaneed.
dirt particles get embedded in pourous foam, and disrupt flow, hence the reason foam filters are hella cheap.
gauze on the other hand is reusable, and less material to slow down air flow.
^^^^^that is what i was wondering about, cause the foam filters just seem really cheap, and the K&N filters seem like a quality product...so i will be going with the K&N.....thankz Event

u dont have to spend an arm and a leg like other have said. fram makes cheap filters, but they are "air hogs", they do not do a bad job.

all of the above make guaze filters. K&N is like buying a sunfire over a cavalier....
same exact thing, but priced a bit higher due to the name.
but i want the K&N sticker...that adds like 10 hp alone, right???
