i want to get the MSD coil set and i wanted to know how involved is the process. By the looks of it, seems pretty &$*%ing involved. Any help is much appreciated.

its not truly that bad... im not SURE if anyone has put in just the coils and not a full DIS-2 ignition system, so I can't say if its really possible or not. Anything ignition related just involves a fair amount of wiring and a little understanding of electronics. If I were you, I would just get the whole system so I could really work my ignition to its full potential (adjustable timing advance/retard, etc.). Just my opinion.

sorry, let me rephrase, its 95 2.2l, and the damn coils seem to be out of my reach, its the stupidest place for coils i have ever seen. i changed the plug wires today(just AC Delco OEM's) and i had to have my brother with his skinny a$$ arms actually get under the car and i fed then through the top down to him to what looked like to be on the back of the block. I do plan on getting the entire setup i was just wondering how hard the coils are gonna be to put on. Thanks for the advice though.

Well you can move the coils to the side like on Later 2200 engines. Just look how they are placed there, and compare to a newer 2200.

When i replaced my coils with Accel's, it was pretty much, remove old ones, put in new ones, wire like the origina;ls.

I cant even see the coils through all the other crap and probably the filth built up on em. I just wanted to know what route was taken to replace them (95Vet), but if its that much of a pain in the A$$ then screw it, i'll just let em alone

Yeah, 95-97 2.2s are rediculous. I just took out my entire intake manifold to make it easier. Unfortunately, you also have an auto..I think you can get to them from the bottom with a manual.

Well like said above it is 1000 x easier if the intake manifold wasn't there. But since I don't think you want remove it your best bet is going through the bottom. I wiggled my hand between the trans and the exhaust pipe.I believe it's a 7/32 socket used for the coils but don't remember. It really isn't too bad I'd do it again if I had to. Be sure to change one at a time though cuz then the ignition module will fall out of place and it's even a bigger bitch to try and line everything up again.
