new to the site, I'm used to hopping up v-8's but I have a 16 year old who is racing a 87 cavalier, 5sp, at the local .5 mile circle track. The car is a 2.0L , must be stock. I've read about ecm tuning, vss disabling-what I can find, etc.. We have been in the top 5 every race this season, but we need some help to smoke the escort gt's. Any help or advice to get the performance up will be appreciated. I'll keep you up todate with the results.
thanks
aside from getting a 2.2 block. the pushrod motors respond very well to intakes and the long tube pacesetter header, not sure but i think the exhaust side of the 2.0 head is the same as the 94-97 2.2's you would have to verify that for yourself. since it's a pre-ODB-II PCM there are quite a bit of chips available to you, superchips.com should have something.
CAR GODS MADE THE 1.6 SOHC TO MAKE US 2.2 OHV GUYS FEEL BETTER.
