I'm putting a 3100 in my 01 cav and I have no idea what to do about the wiring, Any help would be greatly appreciated
since the pushrod 2.2s were basically rearranged 60 degree V-6's (obviously the 2.2 doesn't have 6 cylinders) i'd suggest grabbing wiring diagrams for your engine, and the donor, compare them and see what's different. you will most likely need the PCM since you've got 2 more cylinders to pump gas into and ignite. but i doubt you will have to rewire everything.

doesn't the 3100 only pump out 140hp?
if you're going 60 degree V6 why not put in a more powerful sibling, like the 3400.
I wouldn't be able to justify putting in a V6 thats as powerful as a 4 cylinder.
Sometimes people get (sometimes great ) deals on engines, wrecked cars, repo'd cars exct. a 3400 will obviously be more expensive than a 3100. i think 140hp was for the older 3.1's the 3100 had increased compression and i think a cam change. becides these engines are all torque anyway.
if you had access to a rear ended car (all wiring intact) for $500. wouldn't that be better than paying $2000 + just for a crate engine.

I got the 3100 for free from my moms car she got t-boned, I was looking for a 3800 but they wanted $1000 from the junkyard so I thought free was better
well there you go. I took my psychic pills today.

Is there any place that I could get the new wiring harness made, So that I don't have to do it myself?
you aren't using the harness in the T-boned car?

I probably will but I thought that alot of stuff like the gages and stuff might not work or won't work because of the different pcm
