Hey, i need to know what the stock journal size is for the connecting rod.
I have a feeling my engine was rebuilt and the wrong size bearing was put in.
I had a rod knock when i got the car, (didnt know it when i got it) so i went to replace the rod bearing. When i pulled out the old one, it was messed up, but the journal on the crank was in great shape. I measured the journal, and its 1.865", and there was already a .25mm over bearing in it.
Is it possibal whoever did the rod bearing last put the wrong bearing in, and should have been a .50mm OS?
Can i put a .50os bearing in it without problems? i dont want to spend more money (and time) fixing a problem that i cannot.
BTW, i already replaced the .25mm os bearing with another .25os bearing, and it was still loose.

You think .004" is gona be too much clearance on the rod? Thats what i come up with if i use the .50mm bearing.
THANKS alot by the way.
That's twice the MAX clearance... I'ma say it's WAY to much. Sorry
