Hey guys. Its time for me to get an exahust system in my car. Im going to go witha custom setup since its cheaper. My questions are what size pipe should I go with on my 00 2.2? I was thinking 2 or 2.25. And what mufflers have you guys had thaty sound good?
2 1/4" and any oval style muffler (preferably magnaflow & borla) should sound good.
If you can, ask for it mendrel bent instead of crush bent.

i have an HKS hi-power muffler with 2.25" catback. i love the way it looks and it sounds... well i have no cat so my car is really... really loud. but when i had the cat on, it was deep and throaty.

I have a flowmaster 40 series with a 2.25" in and a 3" out and it sounds really good.
I would go 2.25" piping mandrel bent, Magnaflow high flow cat, 2.25" straight through resonator, and a flowaster 40 series 2.25" in and 3" out. A short ram intake or cold air intake will make a difference in the overall sound also.

I went with high-flow cat, 14" res, and straight-thru muffler, all magnaflow. changed piping to 2.25: and matched piping with inlet/outlet so diameter doesn't change. mandel bent is expensive so i went with compression bent. i heard crush bent restricts exhaust flow at bends in piping.
